Frequently asked questions
- Will this work on a scanned PDF or a photo of a document?
- No — this reads the selectable text layer that's already embedded in the PDF. A scanned page with no text layer (just an image) has nothing to extract; that needs OCR, which this tool doesn't do.
- Does it preserve formatting like columns or tables?
- No, the output is plain text in reading order — layout, fonts, and formatting aren't preserved. If you need the original look, use PDF to JPG instead.
