- How much smaller will my file get?
- It varies a lot by file. PDFs with many pages, fonts, or repeated objects tend to shrink the most; a file that's already lean, or one whose size is mostly large embedded images, will see little change — we don't re-encode images, only the document's internal structure.
- Why doesn't this compress the images inside my PDF?
- Safely re-encoding images already embedded in a PDF requires low-level tooling we don't consider reliable enough to run unsupervised in a browser. Rather than risk a corrupted or degraded file, this tool sticks to structural optimizations that are always safe.
